Held

I had the honor of contributing five illustrations to a very petite and deep book of blessings and poems. It was produced by two amazing humans, creators of the organization called enfleshed. “enfleshed creates and facilitates spiritual resources for collective liberation through prayer, liturgies, art, meditations, teaching, and other resources. enfleshed was birthed in 2017 out of a deep longing for engagement with the Sacred through collective, liberative, creative, and nourishing practices and ideas unencumbered by dogma, religious respectability politics, or denominational ties.”

About the Book:

  • It’s pocket sized

  • It includes art from 4 different artists

  • All blessing and poems are gorgeous and crowdsourced

  • There is no usage of religious terminology or dogma

I grew up Catholic, and although I don’t practice anymore, or even consider myself a Catholic, I do feel deeply linked to a spirit, and have a need to make space to revere and speak with its presence. I find this book of blessings a unique and intimate way to do this. I also love the variety of art included, which more me can sometimes say more than words ever can.

Perhaps this is why I journal, or why I created a tarot deck. Aren’t we all hungry for ways to speak to the higher knowing in this universe. Call it what you like, but I think after a pandemic, a strange bought of political tension and disease, and civil unrest, we could all use more time with our spirits and the greater energy that drives us towards love. Always towards love.

I appreciate doing projects like this now more than ever, and I’ve been sharing the book with family and loved ones as gifts. I think their current print run has sold out, but you can order your copy on a sliding scale.

Below are some images I created for the book.
